The most common question prospective clients have is, "What happens during the transplant"? The following is a step by step guide as to what you can expect after your no-cost, no-obligation consultation to confirm that you are a candidate for this procedure.

1. The doctor confirms your objectives from your initial consultation as to where the transplanted hair should go. The doctor confirms this by drawing a guideline on your bald area so you are certain as to what the outcome should be.

2. You relax in what looks like a barber’s chair and watch a VHS video movie from our library. (Bring along your own if you like!)

3. Your donor area in the "horshoe"  area on the back of your head is "frozen" with a local anaesthetic.

4. The donor hair is removed using PHL Clinics’s special method. This method takes the hair follicles and surrounding skin without disrupting the underlying blood vessels. (Because the incision is so shallow and because anesthesia is used, there is no pain to this process.)

5. The incision from the previous step is sutured shut. While this procedure is being done by the Doctor, assistants take the strip of donor hair removed and cut it up into mini-grafts and micro-grafts based on natural follicular units within the donor area. They are placed in dishes ready to be inserted in the next step

6. The Doctor makes a pin hole size incision on the bald recipient area of your scalp and inserts one of the hair groups from the above step into the hole.

7. This process is repeated thousands of times during your session to realize your objectives from the first step.

That’s it for the session!
