Dr. Lawrence Fremont entered into uncharted territory when he began his career in surgical hair restoration in 1982. However, his extensive and diverse medical expertise provided Dr. Fremont with a solid foundation of knowledge and understanding.
After graduating from the University of Toronto in 1966, with degrees in both science and medicine, Dr. Fremont went on to practiced emergency medicine at two Toronto hospitals until 1985. During this time, he also began developing techniques for hair transplantation surgery, perfecting his own ability and artistry in this field.
By 1987, Dr. Fremont had already begun to make a name for himself. As his reputation for excellence grew, he was often approached by others eager to learn his techniques. Soon, Dr. Fremont began to teach of the art of hair transplantation to doctors from around the globe. Some of his students are now leaders within the industry and are themselves wearing restored hair courtesy of their teacher.
In early 1990, a formal association for professionals working in the field of hair restoration was born. The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) provided a forum for doctors to come together and share their knowledge and expertise. Dr. Fremont was one of the earliest members of the ISHRS.
Dr. Fremont’s rare level of skill, combined with his charismatic teaching ability, earned him much recognition. He has been a frequent guest on a variety of talk shows, documentaries and news casts where he performed live demonstrations on high-profile talk show hosts and provided explanations of his revolutionary method of hair transplantation. The Discovery Channel was so impressed with his abilities that they produced entire documentaries, including Being Human, based around Dr. Fremont’s work and patients.
Dr. Fremont has worked tirelessly throughout his career to remove the fears and heighten the awareness of those challenged by thinning hair. Since the inception of Toronto’s New You and the International Anti-Aging shows, Dr. Fremont has been a frequent guest, giving live demonstrations and/or seminars.
Always on the cutting edge of technology, Dr. Fremont implement a ground breaking video conferencing technique, allowing him to provide personalized consultations to those unable to travel.
